International Ihagee/Exakta Convention 2012

What happened, step by step

 

The convention took place from 11 to 14 April 2012. It was a great success. The amount of participants was different every day, but the final dinner, offered by the Steenbergen Foundation, was attended by 80! people.

I will try to inform you about what happened before, during and after the meeting, but stepwise and not in logical sequence.

1E. Dr. Gerhard Jehmlich, former head of the Pentacon R&D department and author of the impressive book "Der VEB Pentacon Dresden, Geschichte (history) der Dresdner Kamera- und Kinoindustrie nach 1945", wrote an article on the history of Ihagee for just this occasion. Michael Spencer translated it for us. Here it is.

Dr. Gerhard Jehmlich, ehemaliger Leiter der Forschung und Entwicklung bei Pentacon und schriftsteller des eindrucksvollen Buches "Der VEB Pentacon Dresden, Geschichte der Dresdener Kamera- und Kinoindustrie nach 1945", hat zu dieser Gelegenheit ein Artikel geschieben über die Geschichte des Ihagee.

3E. In the Dresdener Technical Museum is a public exposition named "Exakta in aller Welt" (Exakta all over the World) until 4 November 2012. A short video, in which custodian Dr. Andreas Krase explains the main points of this exposition, is to be found Here.
